An organization is a company’s or a team’s space in Vautir: its people, its groups, and vaults it owns. Your own vaults stay yours, beside it.
Accept an invitation
An admin invites you by your Vautir account’s email address. The invitation shows the organization’s fingerprint. If you can, compare it with the one your admin sees before you accept.
Accept, or decline, under Account, Organizations on iPhone, Mac and Android, and in the web vault. Once you’ve joined, your vaults arrive as soon as one of the organization’s admins is next online.
Its vaults
An organization’s vaults appear with yours, in every app. What you can do in each depends on what you were given:
- Can edit: see, fill, add and change.
- Can view: see and fill.
- Fill only: Vautir fills the login for you, and never shows, copies or exports its password.
An organization’s vault can’t be shared with anyone outside the organization.
Policies
An organization can set rules its members’ apps keep:
- a minimum strength for your master password;
- the longest your vault may stay unlocked;
- that its items are left out of exports;
- that you sign in with the company’s identity provider on a new device (single sign-on);
- whether its vaults may stay on your devices in Travel Mode;
- that its admins can let your new devices in.
The organization’s page in your app says which apply. If admins can let your new devices in, they can also open your own vaults, and your app says so plainly.
What your organization can see
Its admins can open every vault of the organization. They can’t open your own vaults, unless the last policy above is on. Its activity log records when you sign in, and when you open or fill an item in one of its vaults. Nothing is recorded about your own vaults.
Leaving
Choose Leave on the organization’s page. Your devices forget its vaults, and each vault you had gets a new key. Your account and your own vaults stay.
