Switch from Chrome, Edge and Brave
Export a CSV file from Chrome, Edge and Brave, import it in Vautir, and keep everything. It takes a few minutes.
Step by step
In Chrome, Edge and Brave
- 1
Open the browser's password settings (chrome://password-manager/settings in Chrome).
- 2
Choose Export passwords, and confirm.
- 3
After importing, turn off the browser's own password saving, so it doesn't compete with Vautir.
In Vautir
- 4
In Vautir, open Settings › Import, and choose Chrome, Edge and Brave.
- 5
Choose a CSV file. It's read on your device: nothing is sent anywhere unencrypted.
- 6
Check the summary of what will come over, then confirm.
- 7
Delete the export file, and empty the trash it went to: it holds your passwords in the clear.
What comes over
What comes over
- Logins: websites, usernames, passwords and notes
What doesn't
- Passkeys saved in Google Password Manager.
Questions
Is it safe to export from Chrome, Edge and Brave?
The export file isn't encrypted, so keep it on your own computer, import it straight away, and delete it afterwards. Vautir reads it on your device.
Will I lose anything?
A few things can't come over: Passkeys saved in Google Password Manager. Vautir lists them before you confirm.
Can I keep using Chrome, Edge and Brave while I try Vautir?
Yes. Importing changes nothing in the other app. Many people run both for a week, then cancel.
Leave Chrome, Edge and Brave in minutes.
Free forever for unlimited passwords and devices. No card needed.
