Vautir keeps an item’s earlier versions, so a change you regret isn’t lost.
See an item’s history
Open the item and choose History…. Each earlier version is listed with when a newer one replaced it, and what that change touched, such as Password or Notes. Listing needs a connection: the versions are kept on the server, encrypted, not on your device.
Bring a version back
Choose the version, then restore it. The item’s name, fields, websites, notes, tags and favorite mark become what they were.
- The password the item had until then joins its earlier passwords.
- Its files and passkeys stay as they are now.
- What the item held before the restore becomes a version in turn, so restoring can be undone.
What’s kept
- The newest 20 versions before the current one.
- Each for a year after a newer one took its place.
- A version is what the item held at one sync, so several edits made between two syncs are one version.
Where a history ends
- An item deleted for good takes its history with it.
- An item moved to another vault starts a new history there.
- A shared vault’s history starts over when its key changes, as when someone is removed from it.
Who can see it
Anyone who can read the item’s vault can see its history. Only someone who can change the item can bring a version back.
