How it works
Each character is drawn at random from the kinds you choose, with your browser's cryptographically secure random numbers. The draw is unbiased: every allowed character is exactly as likely as every other.
When a kind is chosen, the password always has at least one of it, as many websites require. The strength shown is the password's entropy: the number of guesses, as a power of two, someone would need to be sure of finding it.
Vautir's apps make passwords the same way, and can follow a website's own rules about length and characters.

Is this password generator safe?
Yes. It runs in your browser, uses its cryptographically secure random numbers, and sends nothing anywhere. You can check by turning off your network: it keeps working.
How long should a password be?
At least 16 characters for anything that matters. With every kind of character, that's over 100 bits: far beyond what anyone can guess.
Which symbols does it use?
Only those almost every website accepts: ! # $ % & * + - . : = ? @ _ ~. Fewer sign-up forms will refuse the password.
Do I have to remember it?
No: that's what a password manager is for. Vautir makes, saves and fills one for every site, so you only remember one.
